SOLAZ

[Antonio Ruz / 2024]

Since ancient times, dance has been performed outdoors, in nature, during ceremonies, rituals, in salons, temples... For Antonio Ruz, dance should not be limited to a conventional stage, but rather, it can engage in a dialogue with the architecture and energy of other spaces, allowing new audiences to discover and access it. It is an intimate dialogue with the place's physicality, altering the perception of the choreographic act within a close, three-dimensional context.

In addition to the rigor and effort required by the discipline of dance, there is a particularity in the art of movement: the pleasure or release experienced by both the practitioner and the observer. This project celebrates dance as a play of the body, where improvisation, composition, and live creation become powerful channels for expression and reflection. Featuring 20 of the best performers from the Madrid independent scene and live electronic music by Aire, Solaz presents itself as a communal and ephemeral act.
